This page helped me find out about how Alexander was trained as a young boy and tutored by Aristotle. Alexander began leading and fighting battles as a teenager. When his father, King Philip, was assassinated, Alexander immediately became King of Macedon. His first goal was to complete the conquest of the entire Persian empire, which his father had initiated. Some of his earliest battles against Persia included the Battle of Issus and Granicus.
