Inarguably, the best museum in the world, given Britan's rich and colonial history. free tickets, thanks to the millenium celebrations! What are you waiting for?
3
I'm personally not into natural history, but if I had kids, I would take them as it's an interesting way to learn. Free entry again!
4
A visual treat with crafts and arts from all over the world, check out the exhibitions regularly.
5
Based in Barbican and relatively less known, this museum traces the journeys in the making of the city of London, from battling plague and raging fires to a history of the Underground system.
6
Tate Modern for modern masters like Matisse, and Tate Britan for classics like John Constable's paintings. It can get too much if you are not into art, but I can think of no better way to get an interesting introduction!
8
Niche, but equally interesting. Traces jewish history in Britan, and showcases their culture and arts. I like exploring new cultures, makes me feel like a tourist in my own city, which is fun!

Niche again, but exciting.. captures London's marine and trading history. The Docklands is now also a very fashionable part of the city, teeming with slick banker types, so catch a coffee with a friend after you finnish or have a cozy meal at the many restaurants here.
