Forest Whitaker gets many folks's prediction for the Oscar, including mine. I'd be a little surprised if he didn't bring it home.

I don't want to say that it's a lock, but her chances are really strong. It's a strong field this year in terms of big names, but when it comes down to performances, Mirren gets my vote, and the votes of plenty of others too!

I am REALLY not an Eddie Murphy fan, but several predictions sites are picking him as the front runner for this year's Best Supporting Actor. I'd like to see Alan Arkin or Jackie Earle Haley take it home, but we'll see.

She's got my prediction, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cate Blanchett took it home either. This will be a close one. It would be a long shot, but it would be fun to see Abigail Breslin win too.

This is probably the most difficult category to predict this year simply because nothing this year was really that standout. It could be any of the 5 films, but if I had to narrow it down I'd say it was between Babel, The Queen, and Letters From Iwo Jima. Please leave me your comments and let me know what you think: I'm no authority on the subject!
