About this trail:
Time to look for more efficient and cleaner (greener?) cars.

1
None so far you can buy...

2
3
Hybrid Mini: 900 mile range, 0-60 mph in 5 sec.

4
Plugin conversion kits for Prius and Escape.
5
See if GM is really serious.

6
It's a concept car, though the production mostly depends on the Li-Ion battery pack. Goes 40 miles on battery pack, a small gas/e85 engine charges it to extend the full mileage to 600 miles per tank.

7
Just another research vehicle. What's so hard about making a street-legal golf-cart?

9
Maybe I should have waited.

"Along with a top speed of 130 mph, the company claims a 0-60 mph time of four seconds, on par with some of the world’s top supercars. But the real test for an electric car is range. Tesla says the batteries will last for 250 miles of pure highway driving, and can be recharged using Tesla’s home-based charging system in under four hours..."
I could get along just fine, except the price...

Not yet for us Yankees:
"The 2008 smart fortwo models coming to America early next year are powered by gasoline engines only. They will still get an impressive 40 mpg, but since that’s only half as much as the cdi version available in Europe, there clearly will be clamoring to bring the diesel model to American highways."

If you have to have an SUV, this small TDI might be the one for you.
