The scenic flight into Horsfeld sets the stage for your eleven days of adventure. We'll put you up in 'Gold Rush era' tent cabins, after relaxing and getting acquainted with our free-ranging horses, you'll end the day with a gourmet dinner around the campfire and a sauna on the creek. The next day we'll gather the pack string and saddle horses and head out for an unforgettable three day ride. Crossing alpine passes and mountain streams, we'll end up at the headwaters of the White river. The next three days will find us exploring on horseback and foot the spectacular terminus of the Russell Glacier and surrounding alpine valleys. Those who wish to challenge themselves can spend a long day climbing the snow capped 10,900 ft. Mt. Sulzer.
For our final adventure we'll begin by picking up our rafts, gear and fresh provisions that have been dropped by bush aircraft on a nearby gravel bar. We'll spend three days experiencing the changing geology, spectacular vistas, canyons and wild nature of the seldom paddled White River. On day eleven we'll be met and transported to Fairbanks via the historic Al-Can Highway.
But, the adventure is not yet over! We gather on a riverside gravel bar and meet our Alaska bush pilot for a spectacular 30-minute flightseeing trip up to and around the glaciers from where we started. The trip ends with a touchdown on the dirt airstrip in McCarthy. These trips launch every day.
