A bunch of photos. You can decide for yourself: thing of beauty or ugly mess? A lot of people hate it, but those who like it really like it. And some who hate its looks find they don't care once they drive it.

This is just a big list of cars that catch my fancy, with no regard to price or practicality. I've included supercars I will never be able to afford alongside charming clunkers I could pick up for a few hundred dollars.
Listed in alphabetical order, since I couldn't possibly choose a favorite.

Unlike my Cars I Want trail, this trail is more about the cars I like that are more within reach than Porsches and Aston-Martins. Cars I like that are good for the price.

so the 1-series hatchback with the supposedly killer new turbo-6 from the 335 is coming to the US. talk about a hot hatch. though this is probably going to be really expensive. it's also a little strange how close this is to the z4 coupe in the BMW lineup...

Here's one of Steven Landsburg's old columns. I like this kind of thing because he takes a simple economic issue, the sort of thing that might bug you or pique your curiosity momentarily, and he analyzes it to bits using the tools of economics. fun.

one fan says (try these bands):
"The past 10 years, I have listened a lot of bands whose sound somehow resembles that in your albums; bands like Sunday Munich, Saltillo, Anathema (the album "A Natural Disaster", and over all the song "A natural Disaster" has a lot of Porstishead onto it), Tripnotik. They have albums that have surpassed (in my opinion) the Portishead album of 1997. Well, they did not have to invent many things as you did, they used what you invented, but they "perfectioned" it, so, will Portishead create something new?"

"Most western music is melodic with rhythms added while salsa music,
fundamentally, is rhythms played melodically. There is the distinction. The clave is the
lifeblood of each rhythm; hence the music."

I like the GTI because it combines fun, practicality, and luxury and wasn't too expensive. A replacement would have to do at least as well. I'm a big fan of hatchbacks, and I also didn't really want to shell out for another front-wheel drive car.

seems a good macro lens choice. smaller and lighter than the nikon 60mm macro, and on a DSLR, probably a more useful focal length (75mm equiv vs 90mm). and much more compact than the tamron 90mm macro.

Good pizza, but my favorite thing about Stacia's is the wide variety of crust styles, sauces, and toppings. I like variety and it seems like I could make a million delicious combinations there. Plus, they give you cookies when you order.

TechCrunch was our public release, with the first public mention of Trailfire in blogs or the press. Lots of interesting comments, though it's obvious we have some educating to do if we want to convince people we're offering something new and useful.

Our tour begins in Shinjuku. The station here is one of the central hubs of Tokyo transportation, and our hotel was just a few blocks away. Every day we went back and forth to that station, taking trains all over Tokyo. The area around the station is full of all kinds of activity, restaurants, shops.. and lots and lots of people.
