This trail-blog is meant to track those who AID OUR ENEMIES. You read about them every day in the paper, see them on the news - they range from well-intentioned people who simply have forgotten the horrors of 9/11 to people who willfully and purposefully aid and abet the enemies of peace, freedom, and civilization all around the world. Some in the latter category act out of greed, some to seek power, and others just because they dislike the way our world is organized today, and want to use anarchy to reshuffle the deck.
Here is the man who made over $2 million for his firm by representing and freeing the "Kuwaiti 12" - brutal terrorists who fought for al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
Here is the deal: this firm, Shearman & Sterling, and Tom Wilner, a partner, are responsible for the unjust release of 12 highly dangerous terrorists from the Guantanamo Bay detention facility. What crime did these 12 commit that got them into Gitmo? They were captured during the Afghan war in 2002, and staged one of the bloodiest riots in their lock-up in Afghanistan - the Qala-I-Jangi prison riot. After being transfered to Gitmo, the Kuwait government spent considerable resources and money to get 12 Kuwaitis out of Gitmo, and now they walk the streets in Kuwait as free men, thanks to this firm and their partners who AID OUR ENEMIES.
This is the law firm that started the whole legal mess at Guantanamo. Specifically, Tom Wilner, a partner with this firm, represented the "Kuwaiti 12", and received a reported $2 million in remuneration from the Kuwaiti government for his services that started in 2002, just after the horrors of 9/11.
This firm's Abu Dhabi office has been creative in defining "Shariah compliant" legal services so that the work they do is in compliance with strict Muslim laws that would otherwise forbid the sort of legal sharking that a firm like this participates in.
Richard Levick is a high-stakes media guru who was hired by Tom Wilner to paint the terrorist "Kuwaiti 12" in a positive light.
Levick's sleazy tactics involved putting a "human face" on detainees so that the public would feel sympathetic to those who were complicit in the deaths of 3,000 Americans on 9/11. Knowing that the liberal media would lazily report as truth and news anything that he put out there on the "Kuwaiti 12", he used press releases a website to put the sheep's clothing over the wolf that hiw clients really are.
Levick made $774,000 in fees for one year worth of his work for the "Kuwaiti 12" - and was hired by Tom Wilner, a law partner with Shearman & Sterling.
Here is a good example of those who are well-meaning in their intentions, but far off-course in their actions and ignorant to the chaos they instigate.
Amnesty International thinks they know more about this case than the officials who have been fighting and investigating the case for several years. Especially noteworthy is the "information" they provide below about this particular detainee, tell his lily-white innocent story straight from his mouth.
What ignorant, misguided mouthpieces they are.
