There's no dearth of attractions to visit in Madrid, so let me make it easier for you. Start with the Palacio Real, the largest and perhaps the most impressive in Europe.

A short walk from the Palazio real, Plaza Mayor is also in the central sqaure which means that there are several eateries and cafes, and you can stock up on souvenirs.

There are so many lovely churches of historical interest in Madrid, you can take your pick from teh ones below. Most tend to be closed on Mondays.
