Alex Song, the 21-year old Cameroonian footballer, who was once maligned, is now receiving praise. He has been rewarded with a four-year extension and it looks quite obvious that he’s part of Wegner’s long-term plans. Song came to the limelight last season by impressing fans with his passing and tackling abilities.
Song’s blog on his Olympic experience, in an online football network revealed his winning spirit. Although, Alex Song’s experience at the Olympics came to an end with the quarterfinals, he played a major role in the win against Honduras. Manager Arsene Wenger’s says that Song possesses the technical abilities to be both a central midfielder and defender. Song's performances may have surprised those who questioned his ability, but Wenger was never in doubt.
