Wikis are now used as an Enterprise collaboration platform in large enterprises or as Enterprise document management tool. However the spill over of these uses could be found in the areas of setting meeting agendas, making corporate announcements, tracking industry news, and even for creating and archiving strategic documents. Such a powerful collaboration tool, the role of wikis in having reduced the number emails exchanged in the enterprise yet provide a strong collaboration platform, can never be undermined.

Not many enterprises have the culture of collaboration in them. But with wikis becoming popular, many enterprises are resorting to them and started to nurture collaborative practices within the organization. This is proving to be more beneficial for the organization and is proving to be a great boost up for the employees.
