Online flash Games

Ok, so here's the first in a thread of online games that are actually worth playing. I remember asteroids, and Deluxe Asteroids...this is the regular asteroids... This one is true to the arcade experience though, and so it gets points for nostalgia.

This is a java version of Super Mario world or whatever... great game, though I'd be happier if you could make a controller work with it.

So we had Java Mario, and now we have Flash sonic.... This is a pretty good version of the game, and it's fun to play, though again, using the keyboard instead of a controller is a drag...

This is one of those games where you try to launch something as far as possible and then others try to beat that.... It's based solely on the angle and timing of your kick...

My personal best is 4165 Meters, but who knows... maybe you can go farther? You can also click the "challenge your friends" to get a link to send to your friends so they can compare their kick to yours.... Simple and fun...

This is another Mario inspired Flash game... this time you're playing as "bullet bill" where you use the mouse to guide the bullet through the level hitting enemies and bricks for extra points along the way....

This one gets the "nod" only for two things: The name and the music.... it's still fun, but it's really the humor value that makes this worth adding to the list.

This is another one of those games where your mouse moves an object around... you try to pick up black squares, avoid the red ones.... dots have powerups... The kicker is that each square you pick up makes your cursor get bigger so it's harder and harder to avoid the other squares...

halfway decent arkanoid clone... but not perfect... still, in the absence of the original, this is a decent stand-in...

Ok, I fixed the problem with being able to see what I type here... unfortunately, unless you read this on the sidebar, you'll never see this text. Anyone who is familiar with 2chan knows how they tend to draw cats with strange characters... well, this is a fighting game using those characters. I think the instructions are in Japanese, so you won't really figure out how to play without messing around with it. Still, give it a shot..

This is a great little game... only 8 levels, but it's very entertaining to play. The premise is simple: You have to arrange the tower so that bigger numbers are at the bottom, and smaller numbers are at the top... Any numbers you discard can be used by your opponent, so you have to be careful of what you discard, and each level decreases the number of available numbers in the "Draw pile"... by the 8th level you'll only have 1 or 2 numbers not in use at any one time... Great game though...

This is a cool little game, though some of the more expensive weapons are worthless... Also, it's possible to get the defenses up to a point where you don't have to do ANYTHING to stop the onslaught... Still it's worth checking out....

This is one of the best original online games out there... the creator of the original bowman game made this version where you have to protect your castle from invaders by shooting arrows at them... There's lots of levels and powerups and other things too...

This is one of those games I call "Avoidance/collector" games... Move object A to pick up object B while avoiding object C... the music is pretty cool, and some of the powerups are trippy.... lots of fun

This is a sort of "beat-em-up" game starring Smacky the squirrel... his friends want to cheer him up, but Smacky doesn't want to be cheered up, so you have to beat them up... ALL moves are done with the mouse... Make sure you practice a lot on the beanbag they give you to attack before the game really starts....

Yeah, this is sorta like "Risk" only instead of having to do the lame territory picking, and having to figure out what bonuses you get and cards and all that other crap, this just boils the gameplay down to attack, roll, win or lose and when you're done, pass your turn... So essentially it takes the fun part and makes that the center of the game...

This is one of those games that's simple, challenging, and entertaining all while being somewhat ORIGINAL... a rarity these days. It's not the most challenging game, but it'll keep you busy for a while.

This is a pretty good shooting gallery style game... pretty simple to figure out... space bar to reload, and mouse and mouse button to aim and fire...

This is a great flash shooter in the style of "raiden"... It's a little too easy maybe, but It's well done... Too bad there's like 400 copies of it on stumbleupon.

If you remember missile command, this is a lot like that....not a bad game at all..

This is a pretty fun corridor shooter on rails.. moves a bit slow but it's cool.. and there's also a bunch of other marks here...

This is the newest version of Nanaca Crash. If you don't read japanese, don't worry, neither do I, but I figured this game out.

First off, you have to hit the guy with the bike by determining power and angle (should be simple enough to figure out). Once the guy is in motion, you will see a bunch of people below him that he may bounce into and hit. Some of these girls will boot/punch/body slam into him to boost him further into the air. Two of the girls have other effects though: the girl with the glasses (portrait outlined in green) will stop you cold if you happen to land on her... The one outlined in purple will disappear, but then will block the next person from affecting you (including the glasses girl who stops you) Thus nullifying their effect on you...This can be both good and bad depending on the effect.

The two guys have negative effects for you... One will slow you down (which usually means that you will bounce on the ground more often) The other will either cause your angle to go up (meaning you may still bounce high, but you don't cover much ground), or your angle may go down (which means about the same as the slowdown in terms of how often you hit the ground)

There are also special combos to be had if you land on the right girl at the right time... if you see the screen flash and it says "Special" press the mouse button to ensure you activate the special for MEGA AIRTIME...

This game is fun, simple, and funny... You won't find much depth to the gameplay here, but it's fairly enjoyable for the 10-20 minutes you'll wind up playing it...

If you like puzzle games where there's a specific order to doing things, this is the game for you. It's low on action but there are moments when you actually need some kind of "skill" to take the enemy down...

This is one of those weird games you find on the net.... actually, you have to click on the link to the game on this page, but you need the instructions on how to play.... This is a game you COULD play with just some dice and some chips....

This is one of those excellent timewasters that can really help a slow day go by just a little faster... See My review of this page for some tips.

Ok I had to put up a better link to the Bowmaster Prelude game because the other one wouldn't work... So sadly no fullscreen here.. you'll just have to figure out a way to save the game to your hard drive if you really want to play it fullscreen... (It's not hard to do).

Ugh, this one is a pain to try and edit the mark... Anyway, this is a cool flash game that only suffers from the lack of in-game sound effects or music.

If you remember sega swirl, this should be very familiar to you...


I wonder why this screws with the trailfire extension so much?

This is a kinda fun and educational game. Test to see how well you know where the 50 states are... of course Hawaii and Alaska are pretty much bonus states, but wait till they ask you to place the District of Columbia...

This is the first puzzle game I ever really wanted to finish.  I actually found the sequel before the 1st game though, but this one is the better game in my opinion.

This is a cool little flash game where you use the mouse to do all the commands necessary to complete this little adventure.  Very cool stuff.

There are many versions of this kind of game running around right now, but this one looks the best and sounds the best.

Of course the enemies are still glorified dots, and they've stolen the sounds from the old "Lemmings" game, but still, it's fun.

The idea is simple... stop the enemy from making it to the exit.  The only way you can do this is by placing turrets and upgrading them.

You get bonus points for sending a wave through early, so if you defeat all of one wave easily go ahead and press the "send next level" button.

See how far you can get...

If you've ever seen the various YTMND memes, this will be hilarious to you... if you haven't, this may merely be bizarre...

In either case, it's a distraction for a few minutes, and kinda amusing...

This is a much improved version of the knife throw game.  This time you get a better goal (hit targets in numerical order) and you can choose your victim...er  I mean assistant....

The object of this game is to "grow" the items in the correct order.  each item has a certain "development cycle" that will depend on other items to continue the cycle...

So if you drag them in the wrong order it won't get as far as the correct order.  It's not that frustrating, and it's kinda fun to figure out.  Just don't spoil it for someone else, since there's only ONE right answer...

Since The "Virus" game went 404, I had to find another version... so here it is.. not fullscreen this time though.

This is a game where you have to change the color of your piece to capture nearby pieces, and thus you keep spreading until the whole board is the same color... simple, entertaining... and some potential for strategy in there...

This is one of those weird games that COULD be really addictive... you ride a BMX bike across this terrain and use the controls to do various jumps, flips, etc... Apparently you aren't limited by a number of lives, so have fun trying to get through it...

Whee!! It's flash Q-Bert.... Pretty good version of it so far as I can tell... I haven't played it extensively, but it looks authentic enough.....

Ok, this is just a plain silly game.  It used to be that all you had to do was simply tap the left and right arrow keys to make your character run...

NOW they want you to also type in a few letters to avoid the moon speeding up... and if it speeds up, it REALLY speeds up.

Failing a test is almost as good as ending the game.... unless you can really kick it into high gear and keep running.

I've included this one for the novelty factor.  I don't think i've seen any games like this one (outside of the old Track & Field arcade games)

This is a pretty cool little game with a new concept...you have no weapons but you're indestructible... So you have one choice...ram the enemy to destroy them... wait for them to attack you first, and then control your tank in the air as you ram into as many planes as possible.. 

Use your exp to buy more enemies (thus allowing you to extend your combos)...very nice, and also nintendo wii playable...

It's an Arkanoid/Breakout Clone, but this one is a bit different.  For one thing you can gently move the "bat" to barely affect the ball's angle, or you can move it "hard" to greatly affect the ball's angle.

Then there's the matter of falling bonus points... after the brick is destroyed, sometimes extra points will drop out of them, and you have to have the "bat" placed under the points to get them...

And of course we have the usual upgrades/downgrades... like Sticky Bat, Multiball, Double Bat (which can screw you up if you're not ready for the gap in the middle)...

Definitely worth checking out.

This is a great little vector style game where you are hurtling down a road with obstacles, trying to pick up colored blocks for points.   Worth playing when you've got a few minutes to spare.

This is kinda interesting.  It's a sort of RPG fighting game.  As you can see, they're definitely trying to get people to buy the full version, but I think that this version is more than enough for me for the amount of playtime I'm going to invest in it.

Still, I think there's an option to save your game and continue, so that's something...

I Had to move the mark for this one (They stopped people from direct linking) and you'll have to turn your adblock off to even see it (Sigh) but it's kinda fun...

This is a really cool flash 2D side-scroller with several weapons to choose from.  The controls take some getting used to, but it's fun and worth playing more than once.

I could have been cheezy and just listed each and every one of these in a separate trail mark... but Nah, I'll let you look and pick which one you wanna choose next.

This game looks cool, but also looks more complicated than I'm willing to try right now.

This is a great version of breakout. Almost like Arkanoid. It's better if you can find a fullscreen version of it though.

This is a somewhat original puzzle game.  The basics are simple: Stack the numbers up so that when the number of discs vertically or horizontally equals that number, the numbered discs vanish.

Three 3's horizontally will all vanish, two blank discs and a number 3 horizontally will result in only the 3 vanishing.  Same for vertically.  It's very entertaining.

This is a tough little game.  There is no easy mode.  Just normal, hard and impossible.  Make one mistake in normal and you'll find yourself struggling to stay ahead of the enemy.  and you WILL have to get ahead of the enemy to win.

This is a cool shooter where you have to color code the bullets in order to do damage.

The worst part is that your ammo is limited and replenishes slowly so you have to carefully judge how much to use.

This game was best described as "a drunk spiderman".  Basically you use two "wires" to swing from the ceiling trying to move forward as far as possible.

This is a combination of Sonic and Tetris.  Shouldn't be too hard to figure out, should it?

This is an awesome remake of the old Amiga game "Wings of Fury" from Broderbund.  The controls will take some getting used to (mostly landing) but it's still awesome.

This is a great flash game where you have to cooperate with time-shifted versions of yourself to win the game.  You can also lose if you create a time paradox or otherwise get crushed against a wall or something...

Lots of fun

Once again they moved the game... It's sorta like missile command or asteroids. 

This is the avoider game.. the idea is simple. Don't let that little guy grab your cursor. 

This is yet ANOTHER game I had to move the mark on....The idea is simple. Jump and deploy your parachute in time to be the first on the ground (Without dying).

Again, I had to move this one because the old link died.  Play russian roulette against "the gimp" and see who wins?

This is an awesome version of Missile Command.   The techno music might be a bit much, but the game itself is cool.

For some reason, Solitaire is one of the most popular computer games ever.  So here's a collection of web based solitaire that gives you LOTS of games to play.

This game tests your 3D imagining skills... Build up a set of blocks so it matches the front side and top views given...

This is an awesome little game.  Unfortunately they stop you from going past level 5 without paying for the game...   Still, very cool for 5 levels worth!

A collection of flash games.  The ones I tried looked very much like the originals.

This is a decent game.  It's a 2D sidescrolling dogfight game.

This has a bunch of nice games on it... Well, "Age of War" is fun... Swords and sandals is a tad cheezy but it's kinda fun....

This is a pretty cool dice game in flash.  It even keeps track of stats and awards.
