Very well written.... "Firefox has momentum, but IE7 will eventually work for corporate users, and will eventually capture many of the same extensions offered on Firefox."
3
Pull Quote: As I try out these browsers, I realize that add-ons are increasingly important to me. I've been using Firefox (though I'm re-evaluating now), so WeatherFox, Live HTTP Headers, and FireFTP have become staples for me.

A great quote here. This guy gets the value of the ecosystem. "But, I actually don’t think security is the main reason people are going to Firefox. I think it’s because of Add-ons. Firefox has over 1,000, and with the release of Internet Explorer 7, Microsoft has created its own add-on site to catch up with the people at Mozilla. Why are they important? Well I think people love them because they can personalise their browser to however they need it. Trailfire is a great example"

the community of bloggers is picking up on Trailfire's ability to provide both social navagation and social commentary.

Battle Royale! This blogger also points out Grease Monkey as a second add-on cought up in the ecosystem battle.

a quote here .... "I found it interesting to learn of one of the first cross-browser extension, called Trailfire. Trailfire is a Firefox Extension; Internet Explorer 7 add-on, and essentially a hosted service that allows users to comment on the websites they visit, leaving a 'trail' so to speak.... I believe we'll be seeing many more cross-browser extensions in the near future."

An interesting quote from this blog. Great perspective. Another under reported story is the system of IE extensions. It is possible to add functionality to Internet Explorer, even though the number of IE add-ons is significantly smaller than extensions for Firefox. Most people do not even know that it is possible to extend Internet Explorer the same way as Firefox is expandable. And Microsoft is catching up. For IE 7's launch Microsoft has partnered with Trailfire.

pull quote: IE7 still has a lot of catching up to do. With thousands of plugins written for Firefox, I think it will be a tough job for IE7 to stand at par with FF.

Pull Quote: Trailfire is cool because it allows me to take the social networking share-sphere off flickr and digg and on to the rest of the net. Its important that people know what the masses think of everything rather than just the Marketing & PR people from companies. Check them out and see what you think.

this one is interesting. Quote: Trailfire plays double duty as both a Firefox Extension and an Internet Explorer 7 add-on. In either browser, Trailfire dances right along, capturing the best of both camps, and may be the first smart extension that doesn’t care what browser you use, you can still play along with the rest of the kids.
