I started Cosmic Volunteers after volunteering for three months as ateacher in rural Nepal in 2000. It was my first trip outside the US, a real
eye-opener in so many ways.

It's hard to imagine a volunteer experience more fulfilling than workingat an orphanage in Ghana. The basics are usually taken care of for the children,like their meals and a place to stay. But, with limited local staff available,there is only so much love and caring available for the children. That's why thechildren so eagerly await the arrival of volunteers, who can give the kids moreattention and love.

Our HIV/AIDS volunteers work with local organizations who are providing
HIV/AIDS education and support programs in local communities in Kenya.

Through our journalism internships in Ghana, you will have the unique
opportunity to learn and practice journalism in several mediums including
newspaper, TV, and radio. These internships are designed for journalism students
and professionals to gain firsthand experience in journalism in Ghana. Please
keep in mind that we need to receive your CV/resume in order to confirm a
placement in the program.

We have a variety of Medical placements available in Ghana. You can workin a hospital, clinic or teaching hospital, in any one of a number ofdepartments. If you plan on specializing, we can arrange to place you in arelevant department, to give you maximum experience in your chosen field. Ifyour interest is nursing, we have a number of institutions who would appreciate
your help.

Ghana?s interest in football is at an all-time high, especially with
Ghana?s outstanding World Cup performance in 2006 which included a win against
the US.
