This is a list for the best for Young Adults in 2006. The winning titles make up an extremely diverse list that includes non-fiction, science fiction and fantasy, graphic novels, contemporary and historical fiction and verse novels. The committee also selected a Top Ten list of titles that exemplify the quality and range of literature being published for teens.

If you are on this list, then you are supposed to have made it. I really mean to complete this atril and check how many books actually make it to all the lists that come out as picks of the year.

The PW's pick of the year, is obviously of the pick of the year before, since the date is June 2006, but it does make us have a look anew at the market and what appears there.
