About this trail:
a host of problems can be blamed on fluoridation. Some say fluoride is industrial waste and that the mining industry duped us into thinking it's healthy so we'd want it in our water. So is fluoride deadly or healthy, or do we just not know?

My wife has shown me a lot of Internet back-and-forth suggesting a host of problems that can be blamed on fluoridation. Some say fluoride is industrial waste and that the mining industry duped us into thinking it's healthy so we'd want it in our water. So is fluoride deadly or healthy, or do we just not know?

Offspring of pregnant animals receiving relatively low doses of fluoride showed permanent effects to the brain which were seen as hyperactivity (ADD-like symptoms)

the National Institutes of Health (NIH) reviewed research on dental cavities prevention and public policy, including fluoridation. It agreed with antifluoride activists that many studies in this area are of poor quality. However, the NIH panel concluded that the unevenness of research does not invalidate the clear benefits of fluoride. The NIH believes that the dramatic reductions in tooth decay in the past 30 years are due to fluoridation of the water supply, and parents and health professionals should continue to ensure that kids receive enough fluoride to prevent cavities.

We Support Fluoride in our Community Water based on these Values • It Promotes health for all community members even the disadvantaged and most vulnerable. • Taking a community-wide and long-term approach to solving problems. • Using our local and state tax dollars equitably and in a cost effective manner. • Preventing disease. • Making informed choices based on available evidence and its relevance to our community’s situation. • Recognizing that public health measures have been of great benefit to the community, but that they need to meet a high standard of safety and efficacy and should not constitute an insurmountable burden to those who object to them for personal reasons. • Understanding that any policy involves a balance between risk, cost, and benefit. • Understanding that there can be no absolute certainty in public health matters, but that there are reasonable standards of evidence that most of our community can accept to use in making policy decisions.

I would advise against fluoridation.. Side-effects cannot be excluded .. In Sweden, the emphasis nowadays is to keep the environment as clean as possible with regard to pharmacologically active and, thus, potentially toxic substances

Fluoride in tap water can cause bone cancer in boys, a disturbing new study indicates, although there is no evidence of a link for girls. New American research suggests that boys exposed to fluoride between the ages of five and 10 will suffer an increased rate of osteosarcoma - bone cancer - bet-ween the ages of 10 and 19.
