Though diamonds a relatively worthless, through the power of marketing they hold a special place in our culture (and wallet). That wasn't always the case, and this is the story of how it happened. Great read!

Not hard evidence, but at least worth a thought. Personally I think that Publicity Marketing quite a tricky art - while anybody can pay for advertising.

Where most consumers might flip the channel on traditional commercials, those who watched the Simpson clip were quite eager to see it. As such, most of those viewers will be able to recall the clip for much longer than they would remember a TV spot.
