Areas of Interest:
1.  What is Service-Learning?
2.  Click on the What is Service Learning? link.  Next click on the Characteristics of Service-Learning link.  Tell me four things service-learning is and four things it is not.  Click the "back" button to return to this page to continue with the case trail.
3.  Give one example of community service and one example of service-learning.  What is the difference?

Take just a minute to think about all the areas of our community that need improvement.  Are you tired of seeing litter scattered everywhere?  Do you think something should be done about child abuse?  How does it make you feel to see a stray animal roaming around without a home?  Do you think teens need more opportunities and activities so that they do not end up behind bars?

The big question is...  Have you ever wanted to be the change?

Find the proof that you should be involved in finding a solution for your communities problems.  Sift through the evidence:

  • Look through each of the high school project ideas.  Which ones interest you?
  • What talents or skills do you have that might be helpful in carrying out one of these ideas?
  • Can you think of any service-learning ideas not listed that our school community might benefit from?
