Yahoo's library looks nice. The documentation looks very good. Lots of examples too. Arvinind's friend said it was buggy, though I think his problems were with Safari.

Another one. Seems to be one of the more popular open-source ajax libraries. I tink I read that both Sun and IBM are thowing money at it.

Comparison of Prototype.js to Mochikit. I think Arvind's friend likes both of these.

Article about TurboGears (Python-Based Framework for Rapid Web Development). They compare it to Ruby on Rails. TurboGears on Python? It uses MochiKit, CherryPy, and Kid.
