The troubled star has been spotted with a newly-shaved head while she popped into a tattoo shop for some new ink.

A day after checking in and out of rehab, Britney Spears went bald. Spears, 25, showed up at a hair salon unannounced and demanded that the hair stylist shave her head bald, Cable News Network reported Saturday. The stylist said she refused to do it, advising her to wait a bit and think it over. "Maybe you had a bad day," the stylist recalled telling Spears in an interview with CNN.

Cary Cooper, professor of psychology and health at Lancaster University, said last night: "Shaving her head is definitely a call for help. People around her should be worried about her mental state. The past week shows she is very troubled."

Only days after shaving off her famous locks amid fears about her deteriorating psychological state, it emerged this morning that the pop superstar's hairdo is being sold on eBay. A host of advertisements had appeared on the auction site by this lunchtime claiming to be selling either a strand - or the whole - of Spears's chopped hair from Esther's Hair Studio in Tarzana, California.
