Pentagon Confirms it Sought to Build a 'Gay Bomb'

"Gay bomb" is an informal name for a theoretical non-lethal chemical weapon, which a United States Air Force research laboratory speculated about producing.

Other weapons that never saw the light of day include one to make soldiers obvious by their bad breath.

I remember the Gay Bomb story, having covered it in New Scientist a couple of years ago -- -- right after Noah made his initial report -- and being amused by the subsequent media interest. It's in wikipedia and even has its own web site ("Make Love Not War.")

If completed, the bomb would release a chemical aphrodisiac "and by virtue of either breathing or having their skin exposed to this chemical... soldiers would become gay."
