The following sites can be used by teachers and students in a unit about our solar system. Many of the sites are geared toward elementary school students, although some could possibly be used with older students, as well. These sites offer a variety of resources, from information to activities to lesson plans. They also cover every aspect of our solar system, from the sun, moon, and stars to the planets to comets and asteroids.

There are links to information about each planet, the moons of our solar system, as well as asteroids and comets. There is also a brief explanation of what the solar system is and how it was formed.

This site contains links to informational pages about the sun, moon, stars, planets, asteroids, comets, and more. There is also a link to great photos taken from the Hubble Space Telescope.

A brief introduction to our solar system and planets followed by a list of links to fun and educational activities related to the solar system (finding out your weight on other planets, comparing the mass and sizes of the planets, etc.).

Students can follow the path along various topics pertaining to our solar system and end with a song about our place in space to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Also included is a quiz for students to test their knowledge about space and our solar system.

Students move through a tutorial about various areas and topics related to our solar system. Students must answer trivia questions based on what they read before moving on, to check for understanding.
