Instructions:
1. Read the article, "Remote Control Anarchy", on this web page.

2. Using Monitor for Meaning, find a term (word or phrase) that you find unclear or confusing. Create your own trail at that spot (name it "TV Tech Webquest")  and post a guess on what you think it means.

3. Using Search Skills, find a web site that explains the term. Add a trail mark to your trail from that web site.

4. Using Determine Importance, find a passage (sentence or paragraph) on the "Remote Control Anarchy" page that supports the author's thesis very well. Add a trail mark on that passage. In the body of the trail mark, put the passage in quotes, and write why you believe the passage is important.

5. Using Search Skills, find a web site that discusses the topic of needless complexity in technology. Concentrate on finding a web site that discusses possible solutions to the problem. Add a trail mark to your trail, and write the search terms you used in your trail mark.

6. Using Synthesis, add a final mark to your trail. In this mark, write a paragraph about the future possibilities of this technology. Make a prediction about whether or not technology will become more or less complex to the end user. Support your argument with evidence from any of the web sites on your trail.
