Another Portland, Oregon band puts out his 5th and best album ever. This music is a treat to listen to and together with my recently trail marked Portland band, Horse Feathers, are great to listen to on a sunny Fall afternoon. Post-War is M. I categorize their music as New Folk/Bluegrass. According to Wikipedia "Old Crow Medicine Show is a folk/country group from Nashville, Tennessee. Along with original songs, the band performs many pre-World War II blues and folk songs. The style of music they perform is sometimes called alt-country, some other times called "old-time"; but today more often referred to as Americana. The band originally formed when Ketch Secor gathered the musicians in and around Ithaca, NY. The then left to busk street corners in Canada, perfecting their sound before heading to the south." - ebenson

New Music - Band of Horses

Guitarist/vocalist Ben Bridwell and bassist Mat Brooke formed Seattle-based Band Of Horses in 2004 after the dissolution of their nearly ten-year run in northwest melancholic darlings Carissa's Wierd. - ebenson

New Music - Sigur Ros

Sigur Ros is one of my top 10 new finds in the last decade of listening to music! They are Pink Floyd meets Paul Oakenfold. Unless you speak Icelandic you won't understand the lyrics, and even then you'll understand only half of them as the rest of the lyrics are written in the band's own made-up language. According to wikipedia, Joanna "is one of the most prominent members of the modern psych folk movement...her songwriting incorporates elements of indie pop, Appalachian music, avant-garde modernism, and African harp rhythms.
