About this trail:
Online color widgets for helping you to design your websites.
1
The least design palette oriented color picker of the bunch. But it's fast and will quickly churn out the closest web-safe/smart/unsafe colors as hex values.
2
I still have to work with this to figure it out. Appears to be a klunky AJAX implementation of the last blaze in this trail. Will have to keep an eye on this one for more usable iterations. Update: Klunky implementation of DHTML, JS, and Canvas.
3
Pick a color using the sliders or enter the RGB or HSV and get a prepackaged set of color blends. Download to various file types. Not much on the way of picking harmonious, complimentary, triad, or other types of color schemes though.
4
Searchable color palettes for designers. Enter the name or hex of the color you are hoping to find suitable matches for and see what you get.
5
Palette of the Day! Get palettes derived or inspired by existing web pages everyday. Subscribe using the RSS or download to PhotoShop, Illustrator, CSS, or HTML.
6
The most robust of all the color palettes on this trail. Set up you base scheme using single, contrast, triad, tetrad, or analogic color combination. Further refine with variations in pastel, dark pastel, or pale styles. You can even check to see what your creation will look like to a variety of colorblindnesses.
7
This handy tool will generate a color palette from an image on the web. Not all that sophisticated, but it does have 'dull' and 'vibrant' sets.
