OK-so here's how you share large programs for free and easy. Some things can take a while to download-depending on your internet connection and time of day that you download and things.

Here's a coupla pages explaining how Bit Torrents work and the method behind the madness.

Thought you might want some background before diving in.

You need a program (client) like this in order to manage the Torrent File you are Downloading.

This isn't the one I use myself, but I know it's pretty simple to use and is pretty popular.
3
This should help you if you've downloaded the BitTorrent Client. Also includes links for general Torrent information and P2P (peer to peer) background stuffs.
4
I use this torrent client. It's got lots of settings you can fiddle with and it's solid as they come.

Doesn't use much memory either-so your PC will run that bit faster when you use use it. Also you can use a scheduler to control when the client will run and share files.

Handy if you've got "Fair Usage Policy" issues with your  Internet Service Provider.

This is a useful site for setting up Utorrent and gives you some handy websites to check out further info.

Failing that check out the FAQ above for "Frequently Asked Questions"-funnily enough!!

Any other Client you've downloaded will have the same FAQ section on their home pages.
6
This is another popular Torrent Client. I haven't used it myself, but it looks like it's got loadsa groovy features.
7
Fancy trying a different client? Check this-

A fair list of Torrent Clients to download- various techie features available and not. I've only used Utorrent and Bit Torrent myself, so I can't comment too much unfortunately.

Lemme know how the others go if you find them useful/quick.

If you have a Router- You may need to Forward Ports to use your Torrent Client properly. This gives you a rundown on what you do.

I haven't had to use this myself as I just run a modem at the moment anyways. If you only have a modem directly connected to your broadband and your PC you probably won't need to either. So good luck.

As far as I can tell you select the Router you have and the program you wish to use on the next list. It gives you a step-by-step rundown on what you need to do.

If you've used UTorrent, this site'll be well handy to set it all up. Just follow the instructions and way to go!

Search for loadsa torrents on different engines at once. Pretty handy search page.

Includes all the major search engines in one foul swoop! !outstanding!

This is my favourite Torrent search engine by far. I've managed to find everything I've needed here from apps to TV shows, films and stuff.

Try and find one that has good comments and has more "SEEDERS" than "LEECHERS". You'll download your goodies alot quiicker.

**Remember** Once you've downloaded the file- scan it for viruses and spyware- U never know what nasties could be lurking- this process isn't Failsafe by any means-but you can lower the risk.

By the way- If you've got FireFox Browser you can add the BtJunkie Search engine to your search list.  See "Mozilla FireFox Plugin" below this frame.

This is a useful Torrent site- I'm just using it as an example of pages that are out there. BTJunkie still wins by far.

This is pretty a pretty good Torrent site as well.
Many a useful thing lurk therein.

One of these programs will convert any (uncopyrighted) video file you've downloaded on your shiny new torrent client.

You can then burn it to DVD and watch it on your TV  and show off to friends at your leisure rather than being hunched over your PC 24/7.

I haven't selected one, as I got my convertor from a friend, and the Seed/Leecher ratios change quite often, so MAKE SURE YOU READ COMMENTS and run a virus/spyware chk before installing it.
15
If you're worried bout downloading the torrent or would rather just try it out first- you can get a free trial of converting software here.

If you find any other app that's free- pls lemme know.

Here you go then- Good luck peeps.

Feel free to leave a message or comment if you've got any feedback or suggestions.

Please don't forget to rate my Trail if you find it useful! !ROCK ON!
