After watching Sanjaya perform or rather make an attenmpt to sing, I am convinced that American Idol is not about singing at all, it's about making good reality TV and enjoying the cheesy, guilty pleasure of watching bad singing. You see perfectly good singers tearfully return while atrocious singers squeal into next rounds each time.

American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar was born on September 10, 1989 in the Seattle area. Sanjaya spent most of his life in the Seattle area, most recently in Federal Way when auditioning for American Idol, but has lived in Hawaii and California as well.
