......This is probably my favorite bar in Seattle. Small with darts and a load of German beers you would never find on tap. Good music and huge wooden tables everybody shares. Although calmer than the hofbrau house in Munich, the beer is just as good. Become a stein club member, and drink your way to free stuff!

...For drinks during live concerts, the Showbox is pretty sweet. They get really good bands - everything from hip-hop to heave metal. The bar tables are tiered so that you can still see.

......I go here a lot. It is in Fremont and until recently was always less crowded than the other options in the area. The only bar I know of where you can order a 40 in a paper bag.

...Here is another place in Fremont across the bridge from Norms. It has a huge patio, pool, and a reasonable happy hour.

...This place is the best place in the city I have found to watch a soccer game - the bar is in the center of the main room and fans sit on opposite sides of the room from one another. They also have a beer garden for the World Cup and open as early as 8:30 a.m. so you can watch a game.

...This place is slightly expensive, but good. The martinis and mai tai's are some of the best, and the bartenders are always friendly. The food is delicious as well, and Wednesdays all students get happy hour prices all night with a student ID. A great place to bring a date. It is right next to ZOKA, one of Seattle's best coffee spots.

...This place is not a bar at all, but has an amazing happy hour - some of the best calamari around.

......The ultimate UW dive bar - ridiculously strong 4$ drinks. A lot like a frat party with a few old creepy men. Still - 4$ drinks that will make you fall over (eventually).
