Program description

“A simple and powerful scientific calculator”
EasyCalc is a graphing, scientific calculator for Palms and PalmPilots. Of course it has all the capabilities and ease-of-use of the built-in "4-Banger" that comes with the PalmPilot, but also includes trigonometric functions, financial functions, complex numbers and graphing. In addition, you can define your own functions and variables with names up to 10 characters long and nesting up to ten levels deep. Values may range between 1E-100 and 1E250.

Other features:

  • Multiple screens easily categorize functions
  • "ANS" button
  • Scrollable history
  • Scrolling list for functions
  • Zoom-in and Zoom-out for graphs
  • Plot multiple functions at a time
  • User definable axis
  • Radian, Degree or Grad mode
  • Hex, Decimal, Binary or Octal computing modes
  • Normal, Scientific or Engineering output modes
  • User selectable precision to 15 digits
  • Automatic match for brackets
  • Full clipboard support
  • Complex numbers
  • Normal, polar and parametric graphs with support for tracing the graphs and table mode
  • Support for color palms
  • Support for lists and some statistical operations
  • And many more coming in future versions..

SC-123PU descriptionDownload
With the program SC-123PU you get a powerful and freely available scientific calculator for the Palm platform.

Apart from scientific functions it also offers a full set of logical operations and conversions between different numeric systems (HEX, DEC, OCT, BIN).

Additionally the calculator offers a units mode for easy conversions between different units including currencies, as well as calculations with mixed units.

The program is designed in a way, that it simulates the visual and operational aspects of a true calculator, such that the user will be immediately familiar with its interface.

The calculator program automatically adapts to single and multi color devices. High resolution displays of SONY Clié devices and devices with Palm Operating System 5 and higher are automatically detected and supported.

The model SC-123PU brings the following new features:

A complete new calculation engine which uses decimal arithmetic in contrast to binary floating point artithmetic of the MathLib. This gives more accuracy up to 20 digits.
Support of 64 bit wide numbers in LOGIC mode.
Special Treo 600/650 keyboard support.
Should now work better with programs modifying the palm font mapping (for example to support asian and east european fonts).

Available in three different languages: English, German and Esperanto.

What's new in this release:

· Calculation errors with signed numbers in LOGIC mode fixed.
· Display problem when switching from two lines BIN mode to another mode fixed.

Requirements:

· Palm OS v2.0
· MathLib

PDAcalc classic includes several example programs, scripts, and even allows you to execute scripts directly from our web site.

No programming is needed for your basic calculations including plotting functions, solving equations for unknown variables etc. No programming experience is needed to write your own scripts. Just follow some simple examples in the easy to read users manual and you will be writing your own scripts in no time if needed.

Features:
  • 3D graphics
  • Linear regression
  • Financial functions
  • Statistical functions
  • Root finding functions
  • FFT (fourier transforms)
  • Color coded debug screen
  • Auto-scaling of the graphs
  • Equation solver worksheet
  • Solve equations for variables
  • Fully reconfigure the keyboard
  • Complex numbers and functions
  • 3D functions, draw lines in 3D space, rotate objects in 3D space etc.
  • Calculus functions, integral, derivatives, etc.
  • Plot functions without any programming
  • Browse our web site for free user scripts
  • Load and run user scripts directly from our web site

rences between CplxCalPro and PDAcalc classic

CplxCalPro was designed for the palm only. PDAcalc classic runs on windows, palm and the Pocket PC.

Debugging your scripts in PDAcalc classis is easier since the first error will be shown in a debug screen. The line number will be replaced by the letters err.

PDAcalc classic contains a better help screen with information about the different build-in functions. The functions are categorized.

Two-way synchronization “conduit” that merges changes made to a scripts between your Palm, Pocket PC and desktop.

This is a cool resource for animated demonstrations of mathematical principles. This page is about fractals.
1. I've read a bit on Islamic Mathematicians but the Chinese don't get as much credit for their discoveries.
