A typical day might involve finger-painting, playing "pat-a-cake," singing a lullaby before nap time, distributing Cheerios for a snack, reciting Little Miss Muffet during story hour and--on a nice day--taking a walk in the park. Though this may not exactly sound grueling, ask any child care worker or nanny about the demands of the job, and you are likely to hear just how tough this line of work really is.
